Thinking of doing a stretch of the PCBR (S->N), but during the wintertime.
Would SLO to SAN be doable over a 2 week stretch in late December/Xmas? I will have a sleeping setup good down to 20F (comfort rated).
Picked these locations as it's where the Pacific Surfliner Train starts & ends, which I plan to use to begin journey.
Out of all the navigation options, what is the best/most accurate?
- ACA Bicycle Route app
- ACA gpx data (using phone)
- GMaps? Something else?
I plan to have ~3/4L water capacity, would this be enough? I plan to mostly stay at hike/bike campsites, is there an updated list of the ones that are operational/open during this season.
If this section of the PCBR is not recommended during this time, any other good US routes that may be done during this time of year?
