Question for mechanics and/or Emonda owners. I have a 2019/20 Emonda ALR disc frame with the two Control Freak ports on the down tube. I am the 2nd owner, so I'm not sure what small parts originally shipped with the frame.
Currently, I have the plugs that accept 2x mechanical derailleurs with cable stops and a single brake cable/hose (W541419). I'm building it up with Sram eTap disc, so I'd like to get a Control Freak plug that on accepts only a brake.
I've called Trek. They didn't have a proper exploded diagram with part numbers on file, but we think we narrowed it down to two parts….W455385 and W513980.
Does anyone else have some insight on these parts fitting this generation of Emonda? Trek told me on the phone that they used the same size/shape plugs on all Emonda in that generation (and a few other bikes too). Can anyone tell me the difference between the two plugs?
For anyone who will inevitably ask, I'm a former mechanic, so I'm trying to do the research myself before…. a) asking my local shop to spend the time/effort on something with so little profit/margin b) ordering something that doesn't fit, returning it, and expecting them to either add it to inventory or pay return shipping/restocking.
