Got a new checkpoint alr5 in May, and got hit by a careless driver. Ended up in the ICU with a broken femur, clavicle, and scapula with a hemonpneomothorax and a lavercated aorta, kidney, and liver. On the up and up now. Gotta thank Trek for keeping me relatively safe. Unsure of what my current bikes condition is right now cause it's still with the police.

Damn. New bike time came quicker than expected😔

Wishing you a speedy recovery! I remember when I got by a car. Sh*t scary as hell.

  2. Man! This is never good to see or read about. I’m glad to know that you’re recovering. This is why I don’t ride on the road anymore – I live 3 miles from my local bike path, and I drive to ride there. The last couple of times that at I rode from home to the path, I was very close to being hit by inattentive drivers in my neighborhood. Mind you, I used to primarily do road rides for almost 15 years.

  3. A levercated aorta? How critical were you man? Im glad you are recovering! These incidents are serious. Did the driver bail out or did he stop?

  4. I feel very sorry for you my friend.
I am a biker myself and ride a bike every day on my lunch.
    I wish you speedy recovery
