In this video, you will join me along an exciting eurovelo 8 bikepacking trip as…

I woke up on a gravel parking lot on the road to Manosque. It was a peaceful night, unlike the previous one, with no car traffic or animal sounds.

At the first water fountain spot on the road, which had a big parking lot, I found a good opportunity to cook the ratatouille cans I bought yesterday. I was hungry.

A friendly French van camper, traveling with their family, offered me morning coffee, and we had a little chat.

Although the cans were good, they were empty calories, and I still felt hungry afterward.

At some point, I met two French bike tourers traveling the opposite way. They gave me a few tips on wild camping and interesting cities to visit in France.

Then, I stopped at a supermarché supermarket, where I bought food and sunglasses because something flew into my eye yesterday, and I had crushed my sunglasses while camping in the Alps.

Continuing on EuroVelo, I rode through remote countryside roads with horse farms, excavation archaeological sites, and more.

Then, the road shifted to busy state roads with speeding cars and few possibilities to stop and take a break.

After a false lead on a water point, I was glad to find one with a free public toilet and shade, a nice place to take a break.

But it didn’t last long, as the route continued on a single grass track, so I made a detour onto a state road and regretted it because of the fast car traffic.

At McDonald’s in Manosque, I ordered a Master’s menu for a whopping 16 euros, much more expensive than in Draguignan and less tasty.

Then, I almost got scammed when I ordered an additional McFlurry, but McDonald’s closed early. I was lucky to convince a leaving employee to open the doors and have the rest of the staff finish my order.

Finally, I had to retrace my steps back outside the city where EuroVelo continues further, but I only had enough energy to camp at a farm field near a busy road.

    1. Looks like the veggie can is plastic coated inside. Take care. If looking for water in Europe go to the cemetery of the village/town. Usually you will find a tap near to a entrance there. Thanks for sharing! 🙂

    2. Hey Viet, When I saw your "Scammed" headline, I thought you'd been scammed out of something of high value like your Brompton. When I saw you were actually referring to a McDonald's Mcflurry ice cream, I just couldn't stop laughing! 🤣🤣🤣
