    Battle of Pressburg, 907: https://youtu.be/VHUSCs4Nacg

📚 After defeating an East Francian army at Pressburg in 907, the Magyars ravage Swabia, Bavaria, and Thuringia, obliging German princes to buy them off or incorporate them into their armies. But when a brave duke in Bavaria ambushes a Magyar army in 909, he shows that they can be defeated. This stirs the 17-year-old king Louis the Child into action. No more tribute is to be paid to the nomads and a military campaign is mounted to not only drive the Magyars out of East Francia, but out of Europe as well…

    1. nice informing video about a time period where there are not so many videos about. But at that time there were no germans or Germany, it should be either franks or germanic defenders used as a terminology .

    2. First, they beg us Hungarians to help them destroy their enemy in our own country! Then, together, they attack Kursan in the back by lying about peace! Typical Western invertebrates! The true narrative is finally being told here! It wasn't the Eastern gas barbarians who attacked first for lying! Does the truth taste Westerners or sour slightly this grape?!

    3. In addition to the Western mention of the "big franc" victories at Merseburg and Augsburg, here is one of a dozen Hungarian victories! But I bow my head to the rare honesty of the Western maker! With all due respect for the video that is faithful to historical facts!

    4. HistoryMarche! You are a rare honest man in the West! With all due respect to you daring to publish the version that stabbed the true Kursan in the back! You have completely defied the Eastern barbarian, attacked us Westerners with a mainstream lie! It is not customary for us Hungarians to praise him in the face, but it is rare to have an eye on the mainstream!

    5. Love your videos and the work you are putting into them.
Would love to see also some little drawings of the armor or weapons the infantery or knights could have worn just for the emergen.

    6. I can’t believe it, after reading of the foolishness of Medieval Armies dozens of times, here I was at 23:0024:00 thinking, “Wow, the Franks actually got them this time!” Only for the trap to be sprung for the millionth time. Genuinely didn’t see it coming.

Incredible job with this video, you go into the psychology of why they kept falling for this very well. Hell in this case I probably would’ve taken the bait too.

    7. The map of the early 10th c. Central Europe area North of the Carpathian Mts. is totally wrong: tribes with misspelled names ('Vollrynians', 'Polanes' ?) hundreds of kms away from their recorded areas of residence ('Dragoviches'). Place names West of Pannonia mostly in anachronistic Germanized forms (Brezalauspurc / Pozsony / Pressburg, etc.) Pity.

    8. This would have been a great battle to watch instead of the one in Spoils of War in GoT S7. Horse archers, soldiers getting used to the intervals of arrows, and pushing forward only to be trapped by the rest of the horse archers.

    9. "Frankish missiles fall short"
      That's a problem. As a foot archer you should have an advantage over a mounted archer;
In that your equipment is much cheaper.
You should have at least 2 foot archer per cavalry archer and beat them by the numbers.
Maybe they didn't have longbows while the Magyars had composite bows.

    10. This battle has shades of Crassus's lost battle at Carrhae against the Parthians. Heavy infantry against light mounted archers, and the death by a thousand cuts.

    11. The actual military leaders of the Frankish army, Count Gozbert of Alamannia and Count Managolt of Alemannia were kxlled in the battle. That should have been mentioned in the video.

    13. The French priests and monks, because of the raids of the Magyars 🐎🏹 thought that the Magyars themselves were Yajuj and Majuj or the vanguard of Yajuj and Majuj army.. and they thought it was the end of time. This was mentioned by Shakib Arslan in his book "History of the Arab raids in France, Switzerland, Italy and the Mediterranean Islands", as we know the Arab raids on France were simultaneous with the Magyars raids

    14. That was a good one! I feel like I've seen this kind of battle done so many times on historyoutube but the way you strung this out had me paying attention the entire time.

      Good job.
