I’m going on my first bikepacking trip soon. I wanted to compensate my leg length discrepancies with extension on the out sole. I’ve just discovered that there is no grip anymore. Am I screwed?

I’ve dabbled in shoe making and this is what I’d do. If you’re in LA, Saderma Leather will have both of these items for cheap (it’s a shoe making/cobbler supply warehouse).

Get some barge all purpose cement and some soles on Amazon. Barge is used commonly for shoes. You paint the glue on each surface that will be fused together, but do not attach them. let it sit (I think for 2hrs) it’s says on the label, THEN carefully align/stick them together. You only get once chance bc barge adherence it’s essentially forever. You can’t unstick it. It’s great stuff.

    2. If you know what difference you need on the sole of the shoe could you grab a shorter crank for the side you need? Say it’s 5mm and you have 170 cranks could you run a 165 on one side?
