I bought GP5000s for my bike about 400 miles ago and a mile from home my rear went bang and looked like this. I've ordered a replacement but for the cost of the tyres I'm pretty gutted to just trash the tyre.

I can only assume I went over something sharp, but when I went back to the place of puncture there was nothing obvious.

I'm inexperienced as far as what can/cannot be repaired so hoping someone on here might be able to offer some advice.

I commute ~12 miles each way on country roads so would need to have pretty good faith in any repair I made.

    Thanks!

    1. Absolutely not repairable.

Even if you sew it back it will be a very weak point in the tyre, moving with sun’s heat and road’s friction and anything will enter the tyre and make you tube goes boom.

There is only one thing to do with a slash tyre and it is to change it unfortunately

    2. Not repairable.

You can cut the wire out of the rim and then the tire makes a good toyfor dogs.
