bibliotheek=library. Groningen is a very nice city in my opinion. Lots of students, international students as well. Relatively close to the German border. It's different from the well known cities in the west of the country. I like it better.
Groningen is the capital city of the province of Groningen, they named it twice. You can rent bikes btw, especially students use them. Hooghoudt (on the high-rise building) is a brand of jenever. The black and white things at the windows are shutters that you can (or could) close at night for protection.
