Greetings YouTube! Hit that subscribe button and join us as Ben and I hit the road and head north for an impromptu tour of Scotland. Just days before, our long-awaited father-and-son motorcycle tour of the Black Forest ended as soon as it began when my BMW R1200 GSA was stolen on the first day just outside our accommodation near Reims, France. Two separate journeys home saw us reunited a few days later. Determined to still share our first tour together, we frantically made my partner’s old Bonneville road-worthy which I then borrowed. So, time is now short but we are heading north, the weather’s pants but we are still getting to share a road trip together. I think that makes for a pretty awesome plan B… Let’s ‘ave it!

    1. Hiya Steve & Ben. Very different weather than yous should have been riding in, but this is Scotland. Enjoyed your video. I live in Dumfries. I'm just back from touring around Aberdeen. Take care, ride safe.

    2. Enjoy your time with your son glad your back on the road brings back memories of the good old days no fairings and cold and wet on a 72 bonneville enjoy your riding with your lad muke and wendy 2 oaps

    3. As the owner of a BMW GS and a Bonneville, (mine is 44 years old) I’m in complete agreement with you Steve….the Bonnie is gorgeous to look at and sounds amazing but nothing beats a GS on a long trip! Hope to see you back on one soon 🤞

    4. Not a great first day Steve and Ben but it’s great to see you mobile again. I’ve been following another motorcycle channel ( Sean and Emily ) and they also said that there was a lack of accommodation in Scotland although they had better weather than you. Enjoy your trip.

    5. This is fantastic. So pleased to see you back on the road on the Bonnie. Maybe you’ll have a look at the new Triumph Tiger 1200 to replace the AWOL GSAdv?

    6. Top marks – lovely video. Well done Steve – admirable guts and determination ably supported by Ben. Delighted to see a light at the end of what has been a pretty dark, dismal, dank tunnel. Time to leave your horrendous France experience behind you and move on, which is what you are doing so brilliantly. A well deserved 👍
