Welcome to our review on the Bottecchia Gravel Carbon 2021, a gravel bike designed in Italy that combines innovative technology and design to offer an exceptional riding experience.
Starting with the heart of the bike, the Bottecchia Gravel Carbon features a monocoque carbon frame that provides a lightweight yet sturdy base for gravel riding. The frame itself weighs just 1230 grams in a size Medium, making it exceptionally light and responsive. This bike is designed to handle all the challenges of gravel riding, from long, enduring rides to quick, technical maneuvers.
The drivetrain of the Bottecchia Gravel Carbon is equipped with the Shimano GRX400 Mix, a 20-speed setup that is specifically designed for gravel riding. It includes an FSA Omega Megaexo Alu 30/46 crankset and a Shimano GRX 11/34 10-speed cassette, delivering a wide range of gears for climbing steep hills and accelerating on flat terrains.
Moving onto the wheels, the bike sports Raxe COMP2 Thrue axle DISK wheels, paired with VRB Gravel 700×40 black para tires that are perfect for gravel. These provide a solid grip and stability, essential for varied and unpredictable surfaces you encounter on gravel paths.
Braking is handled by Shimano RX400 DISK brakes with 160mm rotors front and rear, offering reliable stopping power that is crucial for the unpredictable nature of gravel roads. This braking system ensures safety and control in all weather conditions.
Comfort isn’t compromised either. The Bottecchia Gravel comes with a SAN MARCO Monza/SELLE ITALIA X Model saddle and a Raxe Alu 27.2 seatpost, which are designed to offer comfort during long rides. The bike also features an integrated steering system sized 1” 1/8 at the top and 1” 1/2 at the bottom, and a monocoque carbon fork that helps to absorb shocks and vibrations from rough terrains.
