Es ging nicht anders, habe heute noch einen Tag auf dem wirklich schönen kleinen Campingplatz in Ventaine verbracht. Die Nacht über war das bisher heftigste Gewitter mit starkem Wind bis zu 60 km/h über mein Zelt gefegt. Am Morgen gab es dann immer wieder Schauer, die mich davon abhielten, das noch nasse Zelt einzupacken.
Der wahre Grund des unfreiwilligen Aufenthalts ist aber eigentlich ein zutiefst zwischenmenschlicher: Mit Jeanine, Nora, Cedric, Peter und der Hündin Slava, lernte ich heute so nette Menschen kennen, dass ein weiterfahren einfach falsch gewesen wäre. Slava und Jeanine helfen mir spontan beim Beach CleanUp und so etwas ist mir in den vergangenen 79 Tagen auch noch nicht passiert.
Daher nehme ich mir den letzten Tag, bevor es um Kaliningrad herumgeht , frei. Mit Jeanine und Slava besuchen wir die ornithologische Station, welche nur 2 km an einer kleinen Halbinsel liegt, und können dort die größte Vogelfalle der Welt bestaunen! Hier werden Zugvögel mit einem riesigen Netz zur Beringung eingefangen. Bisher 3 Million Vögel!
Eine 95 Tage dauernde, 7200 km lange Fahrradtour durch 9 Länder rund um Nord- und Ostsee.
Ziel ist es so viel Plastikabfall und Spenden wie möglich zu sammeln, um die gemeinnützige Organisation @oneearthoneocean zu unterstützen, die mit ihren Müllsammelschiffen die Flüsse und Ozeane vom Plastikmüll befreit.
Unterwegs sind wir mit elektrifizierten Cargobikes von Velo-Lab und unterstützt werden wir von Globetrotter, Vaude, GRAVIS, Triple 2, Ilockit , Magped und One Earth One Ocean e.V.

It could not be otherwise, today I spent another day on the really nice little campsite in Ventaine. The night was the most violent thunderstorm so far with strong winds up to 60 km / h swept over my tent. In the morning there were then again and again showers, which kept me from packing the still wet tent.
But the real reason of the involuntary stay is actually a deeply interpersonal one: With Jeanine, Nora, Cedric, Peter and the dog Slava I got to know such nice people today, that continuing would have been just wrong. Slava and Jeanine help me spontaneously with the Beach CleanUp and such a thing had never happened to me in the past 79 days.
Therefore, I take the last day off, before it goes around Kaliningrad. With Jeanine and Slava we visit the ornithological station, which is located only 2 km on a small peninsula, and can marvel at the largest bird trap in the world! Here migratory birds are caught with a huge net for ringing. So far 3 million birds!
