I think they killed that one before it had a chance to catch on. They are semi-hard to find now.

Maybe for the same reason that cars now have disc brakes rather than drum brakes……they are just better. Do rim brakes work?, sure, but times they do change…..

I see that you made the necessary brake upgrade. I built only one of those bikes and the stock brakes were terrible. Also, try finding 650b rims with machined sidewalls. Damn near impossible.
