I wanted to share one of my first tour I did two years ago with this 15€ bike I purchased off an old farmer from my hometown. The front derailleur was unfortunately badly set so I had to sometimes change it by hand to the smaller chain ring (especially for the 18% slope I somehow managed to overcome, picture included). The brakes were also in a pretty bad conditions so I tried to be as careful as I can.

We slept in random places in the forest wherever we could hang our hamacs and plant a tent.
We bought the 9-euro-tickets regional trains if we needed to quickly travel long distances.

I have no idea how much distance we covered during this tour has I didn’t record everything in Strava, but there are two trips I recorded (I included them in the pictures) :

  • One from Germany’s and Austria’s border « Through » a little of the Alps to get to Baviera. We climbed a little to get to this beautiful castle, The Linderhof Palace. My friend (Yellow Bianchi) and I then related to climb down as fast as we could (a little scary due to bad brakes lol).

  • The other at the end of our trip through France’s Alsace, it was really amazing to see these old villages although the weather was boiling hot and we had to stop at almost every village to ask for water. I was also very sick from cheap Lidl vodka, it was a very challenging trip.

It was a really fun tour and we could easily lock our bikes and take our backpacks with us whenever we wanted to visit a place. It was also a very inexpensive tour, we spent maybe like 100€ each and at least half of it was into beers lol. A lot of pretty places to see and really nice people to get to know.
