The raucous #KTM 1390 #superduke has undergone quite a transformation in 2024, with a new engine, smarter electronics, and variable valve timing for improved delivery.
To find out how the new king of the hooligan bikes goes, we booked one out for a two-week loan and covered several hundred miles of on-road riding only (no trackdays!) and hunted out twisty B-roads, dual carriageways and motorways.

I have only one question..is it possible to fit the last gen's Headlight on the new one…😁
I have the gen 3 evo I found the suspension in auto was quick almost seamless to adjust but I’ve nothing to compare it with . Seating comfortable tho can feel the sharp angles but very long day touring no seat comfortable I put a air cushion on . I agree the headlights look a lot better in real life than on Video . Must say the wheely control is a must . Mine on or off.can just about feel the power taping off to stop the front end lifting .
Sorry, KTM, hard pass!
Made in China
How much for the cam shaft made out of something other than cheese? Or is that part of the performance package add-on?
No offense but you're wrong right at the beginning. Almost every guy wants more power. Always. 😜 I have a modded second gen and the second I heard this was coming out it had my attention
20k and nothing works after 1000 miles unless you pay a extra 1k no thanks
The best KTM would be any one with the R suffix whereby the R stands for Reliable.
Crazy how negative the comments are. If the population of comment writers was identical with motorcycle buyers, KTM would be out of business.
Nice review dude
It's a deal definitely the best brakes in the class and the power is of plenty ❤🔥👍😋
Too much for me. I'll stick to my 390 Duke. Lol!
I don't want to waste my money for this Chinese motorcycle.
Insanely awesome!!!
My problem with the KTM is that the chassis give so little feedback of what is going on. It’s fine on the road when riding normally but a total liability on the track.
The engine is so much fun I can't keep the smile off my face when I'm riding. A true beast but also really easy and civilised to ride to and from work on.
Too expensive, unreliable and weird looking.
Is it a 1290 or 1390? He keeps saying 1290
I don’t miss a day a week kislux This show..
the will sell like hot cakes.. NOT! why pay extra extra extra? not sure if it is a good move from KTM.. time will tell.. we will see how many will be sold.
I love this bike and will never sell it. Mine is 2022 1290R Evo. The most fun 1 can have on 2 wheels. Not the quickest or fastest. Not made to be. But its made to be fun and it is that exactly. So much fun at the track. Ive done 5 track days and 2 more coming up.
Hi,
great video! Just wanted to ask, how's the engine heat on short and longer rides? Is it hotter than the older models? Also the engine vibration
Thanks!
They have improved some things but I'm sure most owners of the 1290 wish they would improve the reliability. Keeps Taking Money. So so true KTM sort it out
Is this bike gigantic or is this guy a dwarf?
So, no torque figures for its competitors, but you mention more than once that they have more hp, which they do. Then you say you think it’s got to much power. Not quite sure what you are trying to say.
I bought an Evo and absolutely love it. So much fun, always more power than you need and ridiculously bonkers on the road ❤
I know 2 people that sold their 1290 LC8's for Ducati V4's and both regretted it. One went back to a 1290 and the other went off bikes altogether (not really, he bough an RS660).
They both said the V4 was just a bit boring after the LC8.
Performance mode, track throttle, slip to 1, anti-wheelie off. Same for gen 3.
Is the suspension also firm in the comfort mode?
Yes, they should have used the switch gear off of the '24 390 Duke, which is way better ergonomically.
