My biggest ever spill was on a wooden boardwalk. Was racing my wife back to the car. She had a headstart so I was on the chase. Sprinted off the wooden board and must have put too much force at too much of a sideways angle as I sprinting out the saddle, which caused my front wheel to slide on the transition piece between the boardwalk and the concrete. Went down like a sack of shit. Ripped a new pair of shorts and new endura stealth jacket, totalled a helmet camera and lost so much skin.
Wooden boardwalks and bridges are always so slippery. Unless it’s got wire mesh over it for bikes I’m always incredibly cautious these days.

Don’t turn when going onto sketchy old boardwalk kids! Always approach it straight

Wet wood sucks. I don’t ride wooden features unless it’s bone dry.
