Hey there. I’m newer to cycling and looking to upgrade an old Trek bike to something newer with better components. The trek got me through a 150 mile charity ride, but I’ve decided I may give a couple triathlons a go, but also keep endurance riding. I’m located in a rather rural area, so the selection of used bikes is a bit tougher.

I came across a Canonade Synapse Tiagra and a Specialized Roubaix Elite that seem to be the right size and what I’m looking for (will try before I buy).

They are both listed for $800. It seems the Roubaix is the better buy as it’s a carbon frame and the 105 group set instead of Tiagra.

So, my questions is, what would be a fair/good deal for either of these? Or should I pass on both? At $800 for both I think I’d have to go for the Roubaix, but if I can get the Synapse lower, that could be a decent route for me.

What would you do and what price would you want? Thanks in advance…cheers!
