Ben O’Connor turned the Vuelta a España 2024 upside down with a stunning solo raid on Stage 6 to Yunquera. Gaining a massive lead of 6 minutes, 30 seconds on the top contenders, including Primoz Roglic, O’Connor’s bold move secured him the stage victory and the race leader’s red jersey.

With the race now in O’Connor’s hands, Roglic and the rest of the peloton are left to strategize on how to unseat the Australian leader. We break down the stage, the dramatic moments, and what comes next in the battle for Vuelta glory. #Vuelta

    1. In italian they are named "fughe bidone" ..5 minutes is a pretty solid amount of time..but not sure It can be enough..anyway..we ll see..thank you Flobikes 👍😊

    2. I said it this was going to be a Spectacular Vuelta, so many mountains and so many contenders. I also said GC breakaways are the ultimate showtime in Cycling. This is far from over many mountain stages O'Connor is inconsistent like many others, they all would have 1 or 2 bad days. mark my words, way too early. Top 10 they should all attack if they have the legs

    3. Greg at its best…giving us the latest from the site Thank you! I think this was a classic "shedding of the leader's jersey" move, meaning with all respect Ben O'Conner does not matter. Vuelta and Giro are weird like this when you have days something like this happens. You don't see it so much in Tour and when the other Slovenian has the jersey…he goes for every stage. Also when someone gives me Yates as a potential winner next time I am switching the channel. We all know there are 2 max 3 guys that have what it takes and here it is Primoz and 2 new guys potentially step up (Almeida and Ineos fella, not sure about Mas). Now I need to see the parcours to find out what stages DO matter. Remember Sepp got this last year and his team controlled it for him albeit with infighting….I cannot see Decathlon doing it for Ben.
