Planning pacific coast route to include Sierra Nevadas

Hi everyone!
I’m biking the pacific coast and looking to plan the next leg of my trip. So far I’ve just been following ACA’s pacific coast bike route, but I want to modify it to include some of the Sierra Nevadas in California. I haven’t seen a route like this online.

Any thoughts? Am I missing anything (I considered adding Tahoe but not sure if it’s worth the 200km and 3000m elevation extra)? Anything I should skip (on a road bike so preferably not lots of gravel roads).

Also – what is camping like in the Sierra Nevadas? It doesn’t look like there are a lot of biker spots in the area (according to gobikecamping.com – what I’ve been using on the tour so far). Does anyone have experience wild camping?

Aside – my partner has to unexpected leave in Florence OR in a few days. I’m going to keep touring alone so If anyone is doing a similar route I’d love to find another partner.
