This has to be one of my all-time favourite builds!

This no. 9 Chesterfield Yamaha YZ 250 1993 model was built for a customer who is racing at VMXdN Foxhill. It was all hands on deck to finish it alongside the other ten (read that again… TEN) bikes we’ve built for the 2024 event. What on earth happened to “I’m not doing this again?

The build is a replica of the YZ 250’s we built for Mike Brown and Team USA raced at Farleigh Castle, a few years, so at least we have a head start on the spec.

She’s been built from scratch from the frame up and no nut, gasket or bearing left untouched. From powder coating the frame to the SM Pro wheels, replica chain guard to oversized discs and the blasted levers to make them more tactile and a half-vented era correct front plate for the final touch.

It’s the small details like our own billett axle blocks, brake clevis make these Chesterfields the nuts.

There might also be some more VMXdN Foxhill bike build insight along the way too.

  1. Hey doc I have the same set of forks on my ktm but have a very hard time finding the parts to service them just curious how you get yours or want you do.

  2. Best build I’ve seen on the channel so far, but I am biased. I ride a ‘97 WR250z, which is based on the ‘94 YZ. Favorite bike I’ve ever owned. It screams.

  3. Praying 🙏 for good weather for Foxhill bank holiday weekend Doc, and a massive attendance, especially considering how much Matterly Basin are charging this year for MXoN…..

  4. When you talk about the frames and how much work there is before the build, is that just abuse or poor engineering design of the time? Really enjoying everything you guys do.
