    1. Maybe we replace Mediterranean by Eastern European 'diet'? Not with me, I combine the best from Swiss, French, Italian, Korean, Japanese cuisine. And I am partly vegetarian and disdain meat based cuisines, except for tribal people. If any Eastern has already heard about it? We don't need to have big muscles, but general strengths, especially high VO2max, and endurance. Leading longevity scientists like D. Sinclair, Harvard, and V. Longo refrain mostly from meat.

    2. Thomas, I admire the research you provided on this topic, but there are so many confounding variables that entire books are needed to really give it its due. Maybe, this will spur others to do a decades or so deep dive into your question.

    3. Alcohol consumption in Russia has crashed since the 1990s. Also, Russians weren't eating a lot of meat in the 1990s and 2000s since it was too expensive. The average male lifespan fell to 58 years at one point in the 1990s. That was due to poor diet and high alcohol consumption. The key parameter I think is amount of physical activity relative to food consumption.

    4. Someone smart once said… it takes 20 years on western diet to develop civilisation diseases… and hence what we see here in eastern Europe… Russia is largely susceptible too… however I believe things are improving there… as for the past I believe the biggest role in cardiovascular diseases is driven by high popularity of bread and pastry (peasant/slave food).

    5. Polyunsaturated fats typically aid in chemically castrating populations, so the less a population ingests, the more muscular and lean these populations will tend to be. Eg. If a males dihydrotestosterone falls, typically his estrogen levels will increase, and he will be at higher risk of estrogen dominance.

Another bad fat for males appears to be that new C15 fat the scientific elite are intensly pushing, as it is anti-androgenic and anti-mtor, probably anti-protein synthesis.

Another fat the scientific elite pushed hard, was omega 3, which tanks androgens as well.

Do you think its an accident everything they recommend is chemically castrating?

    6. I live in eastern europe. Finland. Next to Russia, Sweden and Estonia. Most of middle aged guys here, or in Russia, are beer bellied unhealthy fatsos. It's same as in America. Some people just keep themselfs fit, and most people do not. Many young guys are fat too, but smaller percentage than in USA. Really jacked guys are quite rare, allthought gym training is very popular nowadays.

    7. Eastern Europeans but most definitely Russians eat a lot of carbs (there is very long list of dishes made with flour that are staples) and not that much veggies and fruits compared to Mediterranean diet. Not many interested in exercises and gyms are scarce, especially in Europe. Smoking and drinking still prevalent. Food and food supplies is westernized more and more. Walking is what saves.

    8. I am in US, but originally from Russia. You really need to keep in mind that Russia is a very large country and primary very cold. You have to have a heavy meal to keep you warm. I am in US for last 35 years, and here are a lot of people go by on a lot of carbs: good or bad, in Russia , it will not keep you warm, you need a protein. Another aspect, Russian typically cook at home, during Soviet Union time , not much places to eat out, in nowadays it changed but for many people it not that affordable, so unless you have money, you will cook at home.

    9. Also take into account the study was on Russian strength athletes. Eastern europeans who can afford to be athletes are eating really well, and it's not as processed as in the US. A lot of eastern europeans probably fall in the category of undernourished compared to western Europe and the US.

    10. 🎯 Key points for quick navigation:

00:00:00 🏋️‍♂️ Genetic and Lifestyle Factors of Eastern Europeans
      – Genetic predispositions play a significant role in the muscle mass of Eastern Europeans.
      – Lifestyle factors, including diet and physical activity, also contribute to their muscular physique.
      – Eastern Europeans have specific genetic polymorphisms that may enhance athletic performance.
00:01:50 🍽️ Dietary Habits of Eastern Europeans
      – Eastern Europeans consume diets high in fats, particularly monounsaturated and polyunsaturated fats.
      – They have higher protein intake, predominantly from red meat, and lower carbohydrate consumption compared to Central Europeans.
      – Their diet includes ample amounts of iron-rich foods, contributing to their overall health and muscle mass.
00:06:12 💪 Physical Toughness and Resilience
      – The tough environmental conditions in Eastern Europe foster resilience and a higher pain threshold among the population.
      – Physical toughness developed through environmental challenges may contribute to their strength and endurance in sports.
      – However, despite their physical prowess, high consumption of meat and fats is associated with increased risks of cardiovascular disease and cancer.

    11. This is crazy misinformation. Have you ever travelled overseas? As a natural, whenever i got down to single digit bodyfat, i always felt pretty small here in the states.. and i wasnt even small at 6'3" 200lbs. When i travelled to europe, people would look at me like i was a titan. Most men in europe are pretty small. You gotta understand that most of their diets actually consist of cigarettes and coffee lmao. Sure, there are outliers that are big strong dudes, but most of them are tiny. Again, I walked through the streets to come home after the gym and everyone was staring at me and asking me what i do to be so big. I had the biggest ego stroke ever. And then i came back from vacation and reality hit lol
