  1. Just beautiful. I've only been a cycling fan for a handful of years so I wasn't aware of him until last year's Vuelta. I feel in love with him immediately, he blew my mind. Enjoy your off-season, Robert!

  2. As VLB undergoes a bit of a baby boom, it's neat to see Robert and his slightly older kiddos and the love of travel and sport that he's been able to share with them. This season has been giving me all the feels! ❤

  3. He is the ultimate professional. He was a beast for Wout today. Dylan went down, but the Wiley vet stepped right up. He should be a Sports Director one day soon. What an incredible teammate.

  4. Robert Gesink has been one of my favorite riders. I remember him as a GC guy earlier in his career. Now I call him the happy domestique. His work ethic is second to none and yet he seems to totally enjoy every minute of it. In last year's Vuelta, he was amazing doing very long pulls at the front of the peloton day after day. It has been a long and illustrious career for Robert, one to be very proud of. While we may not see Robert in the peloton after this year, I hope it is not the last we see of him in cycling. Best wishes to you, Robert. May you enjoy your retirement and time with your family. This American fan will miss the happy domestique!.

  5. Congratulations to Robert! He's been a HUGE reason for teams' successes! Not everyone can be in the limelight and it's important to recognize those who bring leaders like Sepp, Jonas, Jorgensen, and Van Aert to the finish line!!

  7. Beautiful clip, for a special person! Very touching tribute for a rider who is very loyal to his team, absolutely unique! Thanks Robert.

  8. This brought tears to my eyes. I have always liked him because I see him working so hard for his team leaders.
I wish him all the best in his new endeavors. Hopefully Visma lease a bike can hire him in another capacity in the team.
All the best to him his family and the team.
