This "review" sounds a lot more like an advertisement. I am a huge EV advocate but this channel is getting very biased. I prefer a bit of balance.

As the number one reason for urban commuting is shopping, getting rid of everything behind the saddle may not be the smartest design choice. I have been using small bikes for daily transport for decades, and found that their practical value is pretty much defined by their carrying capacity.
What is everyone riding in the far east these days? I've heard that loads of people have switched from ICE to to electric motorcycles, so can you show us what is popular over there?
I know it has a particular look but anyone using it will get a phone mount on there, why not have a retro display to plug your phone into.
No ABS for £7500. Marvelous…
There are a LOT of young people on motorbikes, only they are more likely 125cc scooters priced around £2500-4000 new. They're often on L plates, but scooters can carry a helmet or two, lots of shopping, pizzas, anything. Used to automatic machines, few of these young bikers move up to geared beasts and they have to jump through many hoops to get an A2 or A license. Compared to cars, a first license is valid for anything you can get insured on.
An utterly impractical £7500 machine (no passengers, 10 liters luggage LOL, no weather protection, hardly any range) is not a vision of the future. To get more people on proper bikes, we need car licensing to become at least as tricky as that for bikes.
Try this Maeving on the motorway, crossing a bridge in a blustery wind. Carry four bags of shopping home from work. Give your kid a backie on the school run. Enjoy a trip to the hills on the weekend, carrying a tent and sleeping bag. Then I might be interested.

How many mile per police interaction do you get? I'm guessing the old bill do not understand the laws they're enforcing with regards to eclectic bikes. I'm basing this on driving a historic vehicle in the 00s where I'd be pulled over at least once a month and had my vehicle wrongly impounded on two separate occasions.
My 500cc scrambler is 150kg, and not many if any 125's will go 70mph most would struggle to get to 50mph (which is frustrating on 60mph roads/overtaking). How heavy would it be to move with the battery removed for charging… Food for thought! Charge on 😎
It looks and sounds great but, at £7500, its way too expensive for the mass market it should be aimed at.
We do need this. These type of machines will pave the way for more and cheaper options in the future.
Too small for me, needs storage for commuting, no ABS?!, too expensive, a bit slow, not enough range – it has no real benefit over a current 125cc petrol and i don't like bobber seats ;p

Why the stupid dual braking system again?
Bikes require some skill with the use of brakes but for good reasons, sometimes you really really really do not want to touch the front brake for fear of locking front wheel up in a corner but still use the rear brake to control speed and sometimes you need to allow the rear to become loose , trail braking is a thing ..
Not having proper individual control of front and rear brakes on a bike is very bad thing imho.
Never mind the stupid price tag, poor range and fairly poor performance…

I was expecting him to say £2-3000 as its a basic bike thats supposed to appeal to more people! You can buy great 2nd hand bikes and cars for way less than this and new electric cars aren't that much more !

I must admit to liking the look of the Maeving and I have to thank the channel for doing a road-test on it.
What I'm not happy about is Jack riding about with a coat undone and trainers on.
I find that massively irresponsible.

Just because it's electric and about the same power as a 125, doesn't mean you shouldn't wear correct clothing.
It's a great looking machine, you run a great and informative channel, but you definitely dropped the ball on this on.

Design looks very nice and neat. Especially that piping hiding the cables is A+. But with this power and price I would never buy it. Also hub motor … I'm not sure.
at 140kg and with enough space in the frame i could see the use for a 3rd battery to get more competitive range wuth ice bikes
The "fuel tank" should be able to fit an helmet like an NC750 does no point on having such a small storage there
Why does this British company have the most Chinese sounding name?
I have a fairly big electric scooter (Datbike Quantum, almost 3 times the range as this, at 30% of the cost). Great range, but technically it's been a bit back and forth. This Maeving… I really want to like the look… But it' kinda looks like two bikes stuck together. This price point is gonna struggle to attack an audience… Too expensive for young people, to gimmicky for older/ more seasoned riders.
One thing they could do to bring down the price and give this longer range would be to use the Gogoro battery system instead of a proprietary one and use battery swap kiosks. They could still be charged at home, but the battery is rented instead of purchased. I believe the major Japanese motorcycle manufacturers are planning on using a Honda battery pack for swapping, but I think if all motorcycle brands would use the same battery pack it would speed up the expansion into more countries and increase ridership.
It would be so easy to ride 50-60 miles and pop in a new set of batteries and ride off, rather than worry about making it home to plug in

Motorcycling is declining already and at that price it has no chance.
Last year someone coined the phrase "ev poverty" and this is an example why. It certainly won't attract older motorcyclists and youngsters have no chance in the UK at that price.
Anything builty in europe will never be cheap and will not be able to compete with China.
Practical? It is not, if you have to carry a backpack with your stuff, because the space in that tank is small. Going to the shops for groceries? Hmm…no, right?
Price is a killer. Maeving should aim at a higher volume market, and lower the cost. It would look nicer if the colours were more coherent in one bike. I think the tank has the colour theme that should be adopted in a coherent scheme. The tan seat and black mudguards do not belong. Perhaps the battery and electronic enclosures would look better in black with alloy 'finning'. The speedometer does look right. I'd go for a Honda Monkey, Grom, or Cub every time. They do around 186 mpg and can be 'charged' in a couple of minutes. I think they are now at Euro 6 on emissions. They can be comfortable on long trips, but do the commuting too. They are about half the price of the Maeving. Oh… and the name…. it does not look very British.
Where do you put the top box?
That 10 liter storage isn't wide enough for a laptop, right? Next version should find a better purpose-built way to accommodate storage for commuters.
Beyond that, it looks great, and I hope more companies target commuters in the design of their bikes.
