    2. We all know who was supposed to win last years Vuelta..he is here to collect that was meant to be his …handing it over to Sepp has put him now under tremendous pressure…the best must always take the win so that they d be better placed to defend come the next year

    3. this commentator is so full of himself, acting like he is better than the riders – calling out a TdF king stage winners as just "showboating" – maybe show a little more respect towards the riders doing this stuff in 40 degrees heat

    4. I was pretty surprised by Adam Yates and his absence in the leading group early on the climb. I hope he can make better in following stages.

    5. Ineos totally absent again…. Reckon Jim will pull the funding soon, especially with the premiership underway now and Pidcock moving on, i mean why would you bother.

    6. You guys were able to do the high lights mentioning everyone except the guy that is in second behind roglic and will be the main contender for the win João Almeida. Amazing. Keep not noticing him. This will be a fun vuelta.

    7. My personal breakdown of this stage
Not surprised by Sepp being distanced. I don't think this is his Vuelta. He's not had a very good season. I didn't expect to see him on top form for La Vuelta. I don't see him as the favourite in my opinion
I'm not a fan of Roglic and I said he didn't stand a chance of even getting a podium at the TDF but I really think this may be his Vuelta. It won't be easy but he has a lot to prove being on a new team and after what happened with him at Visma last season I think that will be his driving force
Quite shocked that Yates was dropped
My pick for the stage win was Ricotello and he had an impressive ride but he just couldn't pull it off but very impressive ride by the young American lad
We got a glimpse of how everyone is feeling and there seems to be quite a few that weren't on the form everyone expected BUT this was a very steep climb. I expect a podium from Yates and I think Roglic might get the win. I'm not sure what to expect from Sepp but there's a whole lot of climbing to come. Sepp does great on long hard climbs at altitude so he's definitely not to be counted out. I just don't think he'll win

    8. I love the Vuelta. It so often serves up some of the best racing of the year, just at point when the season can feel a bit jaded and over.
It's like someone hosting a really great party after the festivities of Christmas and New Year.
