Today, we bring you some unfortunate news from the cycling world. Hotchillee, the renowned UK-based company behind iconic cycling events such as the LONDON-PARIS Gravel, Sri Lanka Gravel, and Cape Rouleur, has announced that it is going into liquidation. The company cited internal issues, ongoing financial challenges following the COVID-19 pandemic, and the impact of the Brexit referendum as the primary reasons for its current difficulties. This marks a significant loss for the cycling community, as Hotchillee was responsible for creating some of the most memorable and adventurous cycling experiences worldwide.

    1. There’s no such thing as rejoining. There is the possibility of re-applying- like any other country. The UK isn’t close to meeting current EU entry requirements.

    2. "We're an advanced democracy." No, you're not. FPTP is arguably fundamentally undemocratic, giving a party that did not even the majority of the votes 80 seats more than the biggest opposing party can hardly be called democratic, definitely not an advanced democracy.

    3. We could do things very quickly exactly because we're not a democracy. Brexit proved it. The government has a huge majority to do almost whatever it likes. What i hope it will do is bring legislation to codify the constitution & reform the voting system. Brexit proved just how vulnerable the uk political system is to takeover by extremist minorities. That alone means we won't qualify for EU membership under the Copenhagen Criteria. Bringing our political systems into alignment with the EU is every bit as important as any regulatory realignments.

    4. Iceland, Switzerland and Norway are also deluded and should have joined the EU. Like Brexiters, they are also under the illusion that the EU needs them more than they need the EU.

    5. Your ignorance and misplaced optimism is not only tiresome but bordering lunacy.

Denying reality day after day about the profound tasks the UK has to face to become a member of the EU by declaring "not too much of an issue" at 1:48 makes you a clown, not a serious analyst or content provider.
