    1. All those people who think Mas is much more than he is and then ask why he does what he did. His mental coach should have told him that 10 years ago. But Enriq going to the front to pull was his way of attacking! He just maximised his result.

    2. I think the crash on the descent of the first climb is why the break went, seemed like the gap was 20 seconds before the crash then 2 minutes after few kms after the crash

    3. Maybe Yates came in a bit undercooked after a post-Tour break? He could grow into the race or completely fall into a domestique role but it seems too early to tell.

    4. Damn it @Benji, for once Almeida starts the climb in an awesome position (like Patrick stated) and you had to blow it. He was seventh only behind Sivakov, Lipowitz, Roglic, Mas, Carapaz and McNulty. Yates was like 20 positions further back. Of course Bota Lume needs to provide drama so he dropped and then started his recovery.

    5. For those of you who watched the 2021 vuelta you will probably remember this climb. The steep goat track was used in stage 14 that race as a cat 3 climb 70 kms from the finish. This was where bardet won from the break. The final climb of villuercas was from a different side but the last 2.5 kms that we see on this stage was used in that stage
