Lou absolutely annoys me because I find her comments quite idiotic. Sindhu is great.
I'd guess that the "reserving pool/beach lounges" thing is a bit of a self fulfilling vicious circle. The Germans are known for doing it so the English go out early to do it themselves before the Germans get there, so the French go out earlier than the English, so the Germans go out earlier than the French, etc.
I saw a TV documentary all about land sharks, back in 1975 or so. They ring your doorbell and claim to have a candygram for you.

This theory of sunbathing being invented in 1920's France is ridiculous.
My relatives have gone to the same cliffs by the sea, since the mid 17'th century.
And that's just in our recent Swedish history. People have been living on tropical beaches for at least a million years.
Fair play would be for Egypt to steal all the sand and rock from UK beaches and put in a museum in Cairo.
