In this Friday episode, Patrick and Stuart work on the final details for the renovation and restoration of their Chateau Petit Salon. Patrick does a restoration of the antique wall light sconces for over the fireplace mantle. They also sand and refinish the original salon parquet floors using Gilboy’s Hard Wax Oil, and then install a new acquisition of a trumeau between the salon windows in its traditional location. Patrick also uses fabric that they purchased in the sales in Paris to create beautiful curtains for the Petit Salon.

    1. My goodness those floors with the hard wax on them look amazing. the curtains are so beautiful. I've made curtains in the past and found it great to watch you measure, sew and iron.

    2. So lovely how everything came together. And those curtains! Makes you want to wrap yourself in them 😊 I have to say, my favorite floors on youtube are at Chateau de Colombe! Great job guys ❤

    3. Everything just absolutely turned out beautiful, with all of your hard work. Judging from on-screen, the Gilboy's appears to both preserve the age and enhance the original color of the wood. It does not make it look new, but as lovingly cared for old wood. (I hope I am making sense!) "Everything is fixable…" I hope you are not tempting Fate!!

    4. Yes Patrick I understand about not wanting to cut the fabric till you are sure! My Mum always did 1 & 1/2 widths which you might consider for thicker fabrics. The room is looking absolutely beautiful. You guys are so talented xx love from Carmel in Australia

    5. I don’t sew, but I do know that matching the pattern on two curtains is very important. If it’s not it’s comparable to unmatched wallpaper. You are quite talented at making perfect curtains! The room is beautiful! 😃

    6. Patrick and Stuart, you do such an amazing job on your renovations! Having been there, and seeing the before, it makes the after even more stunning! The petit salon is perfect! PS, after tonight’s night shift, I’m back to working half time. 😃

    7. Hi Patrick and Stuart it looks lovley lots of hard work but well worth it for the end result but can’t I just suggest investing in a pair of knee pads especially as it probably won’t be the last floor you do in the chateau but well done

    8. The floors and the curtains really turned out nice. Beautiful fabric. No, not anyone can do what you guys do. It is truly amazing 😍 Looking forward to seeing the finished product 😀

    9. I like to use a blind hem on my curtains. After a good press you don’t see any hems. I’m not sure if your machine will do that but you might consider it for next time. Beautiful!

    10. I admire both of you for this challenging work you have done recently it is showing the hard work you put in but with love for the chateau since I have been watching the progress what a lovely curtains floors garden fantastic job beautiful Chateau take care see you both bye

    11. Beautiful job on the curtains, Patrick, and the floors! Love the fabric. Great camera work, Stuart.
I catch all of Vivienne’s posts. She is amazing. 🤗🤗

    12. Wow, I'm just seeing your video now Patrick and Stuart…had company staying. You two are a marvel! I've been watching your progress on your beautiful Chateau since almost the beginning and what a transformation! Those curtains, the floor, that you just completed Patrick…superb! Stuart, you have captured every moment and the music you choose, 'just fits'! I'm looking forward to seeing the video showing how the Petit Salon all came to be from the beginning to the end.
