    1. I believe the the lottery funding is success based, so Hockey being given £13m for two quarter finals needs addressing. LA28 will be difficult for all nations because a pumped up Trump America will dominate on a wave of national pride!

    2. We don’t need an enquiry, we won medals in events we have not done so before, we did not do so well in Rowing and track cycling there again the Netherlands are way out the best cycling team in the world, in shooting we were denied a chance of gold when the VAR system they use normally was not used in the Olympics and therefore the reply would of showed our shooter hit the target. Boxing was a disaster there again the refereeing has always been useless at the Olympics. Maybe boxing needs to be dropped from the Olympics, why break dancing is in it I don’t know. Badminton & Table tennis again we stand no chance against the China,Korea and other Asian nations. Sailing was not so good this rime around, many other sports we just are not good at, and why the so called best football league in the world cannot sort a GB Football team is ridiculous.

    3. Golds Much better return from the rowing than last time. Well done to them. The swimmers dropped back after their peak last time out but fingertips away from 2 Golds. The track cycling saw a big drop with just 1 Gold having smashed that last few Olympics with 6…but still very competitive getting more total medals on track than any other country. Athletics…1 Gold but also 3 tightest finishes ever that were silvers.
I was hoping for 20 Golds pre Olympics but at least GB have athletes who have many genuine chances of Gold medals in last 5 Games
Much improved since that Atlanta 1996 single Gold from probably 3 or 4 genuine chances and a lowly 36th position in the table.

    4. 7th given all that lottery funding is going backwards. The truth is the strategy of going for the low hanging fruit in obscure sports has run out of headroom. I have no problem with that approach which has payed off until now, but the list of excuses here is really quite lame. The elephant in the room is Team GB’s pathetic target of 50 medals. Ending behind the Netherlands and Oz, both with populations and economies significantly smaller. Must do better, stop with the excuses.

    5. Why are there 18 gold medals to be won in wrestling.? Japan got 8 of them – just in this one sport. There is an inequity here – OR should we be competing in this sport?

    6. This is job lot of whitewashing and gaslighting here. An analysis is done on this and it is confirmed that the only reason we reached 65 medals is due to absence of Russia in these game. ‘ROC’ team as they were called in Tokyo took 71 medals in 2021. UK picked up atleast 8 of these medals as silvers and bronzes. Take artistic swimming as an example. On like for like analysis we are 8 down on golds and perhaps 10 down on total medals. It is not a problem as we can learn and move on but please stop selling these results as some big success
