So fast, so steep, so abusive. The UCI Mountain Bike World Cup Downhill at Vallnord, Andorra, kicked off today with plenty of roost, dust and jumps. The gap jump at the end of the video had never been done until today, when Bernard Kerr hit it on his Pivot Phoenix bike for the first time. Now other riders like Danny Hart and Greg Minnaar have stepped up to grease it. Loris Vergier of the Santa Cruz Bicycles Syndicate went fastest in timed training today on his V10cc. Qualifying is on Friday with the race on Saturday.

    1. I rode the WC Track in Leogang a week after the Worldcup on my 29er V10 and it was dusty as hell. My frontwheel slipped on the corner where Rachel crashed in her race run. I am also struggling with the front wheel Grip a bit 🤔 quite interesting that a longer Chainstay could be a solution 🤔

    2. Yo i live in Andorra and ride the WC track very often and i have to say that it is no were neeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaaaar as flat as it looks on the video. It is steep as…

    3. A longer chainstay is only going to help if you raise the bars too. Said effect will be more centered in a longer wheel base bike. This will be less weight on the bars however and potentially less grip. Lowering the bars will give more front end grip and allow you to run shorter chainstays to get centered but will be a shorter wheelbase bike which will be a less stable bike although not necessarily too unstable
