Last year, the UCI World Championships took place between the Tour de France and the Vuelta a España, and this year, we had the Olympics. For the second year in a row, it feels like the final men’s Grand Tour has come around quick!

The race starts this Saturday, and unlike the Giro and Tour before it, there’s no clear favourite for the Vuelta. In this video, Dan will break down all 21 stages in detail and discuss the top contenders for the title this year!

    1. There is a rumor that Tadej is laying low on the Olympics and Vuelta due to some medical supplement issue; it makes no sense for him not to crush the Vuelta as we know he would.

    2. Dan. Your diet has affected your thinking…. Del Toro? Well, maybe someday. I'm going with Roglic for leaders and points jersey. Sepp gets third behind Adam Yates.

    3. They send you to this race if you have any sort of bullets left in the tank. Just riding around it to finish will be an ordeal not withstanding the un knowns like a few Weeks of heavy Spanish rain showers .

    4. Very happy that the 2 top cheaters are not starting there. Might open the door for some fresh faces with less suspicious performances in the past. Thanks for doing these previews Dan!

    5. Realistically I am most interested to see how Isaac del Toro will perform. A year younger than him Pog…a baby Pog…was toying with the peloton at his first Vuelta and look how far he has gone.

    6. Man the Vuelta organizers absolutely do not like sprinters. It’ll be an interesting one to watch with so much climbing all over the place.

    7. The lack of clear favorites will make this race open and great, even though I feel that Roglic is the best at Vuelta from the whole bunch taking part. Difficult parcour will mean conservative racing. There will be guys going for breakaways but only once, then it's rest. I just hope van Aert will snatch a victory, not sure about the first stage so he could wear red! Go Wout! Thank you, Dan, great stuff as always!

    8. agree on del Toro. As soon as I saw all whom UAE was NOT bringing, I said to myself, "so a Mexican is going to win the Vuelta then?"
