In this extra long episode I’ll take you along a whole day on the EDT, the ins and outs of my daily routines, all the way from packing down my tent in the morning to finding a campsite in the evening. During the day I encounter wild animals along the way, both large and small. And of course a little bit of a mosquito dance at the end as well. So, will you be my riding partner for this fourth day along the EDT here in the Arctic?

First showing, been looking forward to this!
Sorry for the wait, but I hope it's well worth the wait. It took me a while to edit this long episode. Hope you enjoy following along on one of my favorite days of the whole trip.
I love the series. The landscape is much the same here in Newfoundland, Canada.
I bikepack mostly in Belgium and a littlebit acros the border. We mostly don't have snow here but instead we have a massive amounts of rain so a good raingear is a must. I see that you don't use any shoe covers, are your socks and feet not getting wet when you cycle through the rain? Or you use water reppelent socks? I also noticed that the fork on your bike is backwards (or maybe i didn't see wel), is there a particular reason for it like lowered trail to achieve more nible the ride? As always super video and i wait impatient for the next episode! PS: I don't envy the mosquitos 😃
Why were there no trees on pump track road? Stay safe. Greetings from Slovenia.
That octagonal hut was a sauna
Nice one MIke Tnx!

Tack för att jag fick hänga med dig, alltid lika roligt.
Hi Mike glad you are doing this route! I am from the states but have family in Sweden. I have flown out for visits every once in a while but dreamed about arriving on my bike from the north to Salen Sweden. My husband hates mosquitoes and so do I. Is there a certain time to visit the area when there’re are no mosquitoes and cheep airfare? Besides winter ha ha. Anita
Last year May I filmed some bears in Finland and yes the mother had cubs with her. So it was pretty likely you saw one.

Welcome back! Missed your video last Sunday 🚴
Mike, your fork is fitted backwards! Rigid fork might work okay like that, but the head tube angle and overall bike geometry gets worse. Fit it the right way and you get a lot more stable, smoother ride quality and steering + less toe over-lap (if any).
edit: it must've been a mistake since it's fitted the right way in your earlier videos 🙂
Værappen yr er eid av metrologisk insttut og nrk, yr er det vi kaller duskregn i Norge.det er værapp til som heter storm.
Finally! Commenting again on this one. In two weeks I will try to bike from Augsburg to Venice (over the Alps) via the Claudia Augusta and back via official "München-Venezia" bike route in reverse. Looking forward to it and whether I can make it even just past the first mountain with max. elevation of 1,500 meters. Your videos are calm, nice and enjoyable. Good luck!
Whenever I feel like riding all night, the next day I pay for it. Hope you will be okay for tomorrow as that was a long day. I think it was not a wolverine or bear cub but Ryan came back and was playing a prank on you
I think the animal you saw was a Common raccoon dog (Mårdhund)
Thanks
I've come to totally not trust inflatable mattresses as they can ruin any chance of getting any real rest! Been there, done that 🙁
Your fork is mounted backward.
Mike, you must feed the wild life, or should I say they must feet on you!
I'm so obsessed with anything biking although I couldn't do this myself I am glad you bring it 😊
That was a long day and some beautiful country. Another well done video. Take care, Al
why do people not want you camping in that building with the fireplace, isnt that what its for?
You really do not need to show the "miles" equivalent for us Americans. For me it is distracting to see it pop up!
NICE VIDEO!!
Regards from Brasil!
outstanding content!! thank you
Another great episode, with its insights into Finland and Sweden. Those mosquitoes though. Just watching has me scratching. I always get a strong reaction to their bites, hence wouldn't like a campsite like that. Stay safe Mike
Himla trevlig film.
Hi Mike, I really enjoyed this latest video. Thanks for all the work you put into this so we can tag along and experience a bit of your journey. I'm curious, do you carry any type of protection from possible encounters with certain wildlife?
Really enjoyed this video. I like the longer length. Cool scenery.
6:46…interesting…when I was in Sweden (hiking) I felt very boxed in on the asfalt since everywhere else the roads eider led "nowhere" or were private. I havent done enough research tho and assumed the landscape to be same as home (CZ) with more forest and field roads that you can ever walk and that my map was simply incomplete since i was using a Czech app. I planned to see the carvings at Tanumshede and then walk to Ed taking some scenic road but in the end, only on the 4th day I arrived at a road that wasn't for regular traffic. I hope to bring a bike next time 🙂
Watching from the 🇵🇭!
I really enjoyed this video! You show bike touring as it really is. Thanks for bringing us along!
I'm elated you're back. Your videos are the perfect substitute to Darren Alf.
Watching from 🇦🇺
Thanks for taking us along for the day. What model Garmin is it?
What a massive day! Huge kms. Enjoying the series, takes me to places I will never see.
My old packing tent used to be able to pitch the outer first and then clip the inner in place.
Was great when it was raining
The switch from Finland to Sweden was hardly noticeable apart from the road markings 😀
thanks Mike, many a great campsite has been ruined by Midgies and Mosquitos, great stuff
Thanks for another excellent video, Mike! Just one question, is there a specific reason you are so keen to refill your water at a stream or on a toilet, while standing outside a gas station or an ICA where you could just buy a bottle? Is it a matter of principle or am i missing something 🙂 Appreciate your great work and am excited for the next video!
What a great video, enjoyed the part when you were racing to avoid the rain
Interesting to see my hometown, Muonio, and the surroundings, throuhg your camera. Btw Olos is famous for first snow cx skiing. Even the Swedish biathlon national team has trained there 😃 Tack för videon.
Is there a reason why you have the front fork the other way around? Sorry if you mentioned it at some point. I think that must have geometric disadvantages?! Just curious! Greetings Ben
A long day in the saddle Mike with some not so nice weather and some mosquitos to keep you company, but thats bike touring for you😉Some really stunning scenery does help😊You made the right decision to leave the gravel/sand road as that would have been awful with the rain!
Big miles for sure Mike, looks like a fun adventure. Thanks for sharing. Always nice to see the different landscapes 👍
