Niagra-on-the-lake is a great place to visit. The wine there is quite good. We were there 10 years ago. That morning, we crossed over that bridge from Buffalo. It's nice to see you ride through there. Then we returned back to Vancouver where we bought bikes and I took up cycling.

I've been to Canada several times, and I've never seen anywhere there that wasn't neat, tidy, and beautiful.
You were almost in Texas!! You could have been here in a mere four days of hard driving!

Awesome to see you riding in Canada, another great video Leonard. I was excited to see the background behind Rick at 10:12 because I went to Niagara in 2008 and dined at the CN tower. If I’m not mistaken, the dark building also in the background is the Sherraton on the falls which was the hotel I stayed at -highly recommended.

We have some great riding here in Ontario….but of course Im a little biased as I live in Toronto. Glad you enjoyed the Niagara region and Fort Erie.
The Niagara Peninsula is where many varieties of fruit are grown. It is hotter in the summer there than where I live 2 hours west on Hwy 3. The interior can be quite hilly and rolling because of a line of higher elevation called the Escarpment compared to the level at either lake. It is a beautiful place to ride, away from the GTHA(Toronto Hamilton)sprawl of the main highway.
In Canada, the majority of the population is in the cities near the border with the US. The further north you go the fewer people and towns. Then many places are surrounded by lakes with access by plane when not on a big lake or river. My sister used to live in Timmins which is 8 hours north of Toronto. For us who live near the border it is far. But it is the beginning of the sparsely populated north. Also the winters are longer and colder the further you go. In Timmins -40c is normal in the winter. That is about 20c colder that it gets where I live.
Grapes for wine are grown in Niagara region and in British Columbia. They produce world class wines. As well as something known as ice wine when the grapes are harvested in the winter.

You've now experienced East Coast heat and humidity. I live 400 miles further south! I've been there in Canada where you were in summer and can report similar humidity there as here. Forced to skip cycling July and August this year due to age and global warming the first time. Back at it in September! You seem more than capable, especially in such flat, excellent road conditions.
I haven’t been in Fort Erie and Niagara-on-the -lake for decades. Had friends there that I visited regularly in the 80s.
Went back mid-90s to see the sites where timber rattlesnakes used to congregate (now extinct in Canada thanks to a deliberate campaign to exterminate them in the peninsula area—you’d think they’d be given a place of honour because when US soldiers tried to scale the escarpment quietly at night a soldier was bitten on the face and his cries alerted the watch crew and the attack was foiled).
I love all things Canadian and Niagar on the Lake is so clean and well looked after great video, as always.
