    1. I life in Haarlem tottaly agree about the litter man!!! Totally .Around my place I pick up as much as possible, but yes please people throw your own in the trashcan. Thanks for talking so highly of Haarlem. Looking through your Eyes I appreciatie it suddenly with brand New eyes! ❤

    2. I live in Amsterdam and never go to the city because of the tourists 🙄🤦🏽‍♀️ way too crowded. I can’t stand them especially the UK people that come over here for their bachelorette or bachelor party they are always DRUNK AF, LOUD and all over the place like they have no common sense 😑

    3. Also, if you don’t cycle regularly at home, don’t rent a bike in any of the major cities. Traffic will be crazy and you’ll end up endangering yourself and others.

    4. Great to see Rotterdam, my birthplace, as a topic in a video, thank you for sharing (and thank you for your anthousiasm). But beside both Hollands (North and South) we have so many great provinces to visit. Our independence is really to find in the first seven provinces: Gelderland, Holland, Zeeland, Utrecht, Friesland, Overijssel en Groningen. Utrecht has it's really beautiful capital Utrecht and so does Groningen. Overijssel has the history of ancient trading cities: Kampen, Hasselt, Zwolle, Deventer, Harderwijk, Elburg, Hattem, Zutphen and Doesburg… there is so much to discover outside of Amsterdam and if your channel is the platform… go for it.

    5. Amsterdam is hardly considered Dutch by Dutchmen. It's extremely left, woke and full of hate for anyone who has a different viewpoint then their own bubble. 😂

    6. The Dutch do have specific amounts of time to go out for lunch. But it is considered rude to offer the check when the guest hasn’t asked for it yet. It’s a sign of the staff wanting you to get out while we are perfectly capable of deciding ourselves when we want to leave. And when we do leave, we’ll ask for the check and at places where you sit down to eat and get served you’ll leave somewhere between 5% and 10% tip by rounding it up. Sometimes when you know this is all you’re gonna order, you order your food and tell the staff that you’d like to have the check with it right away.

    7. Heh, I'm Dutch and I've visited the US multiple times, including Chicago. Rotterdam feels a bit like Chicago indeed.
And you are right about Amsterdam. Tourist trap. Nothing special about it, other than maybe some of the architecture.
There are plenty of much nicer places to visit for sure.

    8. Especially when visiting places outside of Holland, don't boast. In Holland they're more accustomed to it then most of the country, but when coming to e.g. Kampen, boasting will be seen as arrogance.

    9. I dislike amsterdam and i love rotterdam, it has so much more then the markthal, though of course the old centre was bommed in ww2.but what about Leiden and Delft? Utrecht? Nijmegen? All better then amsterdam

    10. People do live up in the Rotterdam Food Hall. I havent been there myself but i've seen inside pictures of the studios/apartments.
Fun video to watch about my own country! With the waiters and asking for the check; You dont have to get up and go to the bar or walk up to a person, you can if its a quiet and chill place but when its busy, expect to wait a bit at the bar because the bar staff will make their orders first, even if you're the only one standing there. Not that they will ignore you but first comes first. When sitting down, just search for the eye contact with a waiter and shortly raise your hand to show you want/need something. You got to be a bit assertive (but not rude) with this tho. Don't be shy in a busy place. The waiters are going by fast! Or, if you are in a hurry, you can mention this when you order your food and they will keep that in mind and will bring the check when you're finished.
Pretty spot on with the do's and don'ts 😆👍

    11. I'm from Rotterdam. I don't live there now. My parents live behind the kubic houses.
Yes, people live above ghe market hall. I went up to look when it was just finished and still empty.

    12. 7:02 yeah because of the criminals😂

Actually it seems you know your way around in R'dam.

Yes. Seagulls are bad news. There nesting areas in the port and hear the beaches are off limit june july if your love your head.

      12:25
      Yes they live there.

    13. You got a lot of things about the Netherlands right. I think your are properly ingeburgerd 😊. Good acknowleding that there is more to the Netherlands than the big cities. I think a lot of foreigners are missing out on all the nice things in the east of the country.

    14. They rent out business buildings to people who can live there so that it doesnt stay empty and attract squatters. They often have a contract for a very limited time and a much lower rent as well. That's maybe the case with the markthallen as well.

    16. I allso feel that Chicago and Rotterdam have a simmilar vibe. I think it is because both city's had to rebuild after a major event destroyed the citycentre; Chicago after the big fire and Rotterdam after the bombing in WOII. It is a combination of resillance and modernity with a kind of depth that gives them something really special in my opinion.
