Supernanny Jo Frost faces a tough assignment when she agrees to move into the home of single mum Kelly Steer. Kelly’s two young children have pretty much destroyed the family home. Out of control four-year-old Callum and five-year-old Sophia dominate the house. They fight with each other, won’t eat properly, destroy their bedrooms, refuse to sleep at bedtime, and worst of all, they have been known to physically attack their mum. Can Supernanny Jo make her mark this week, or does it all prove too much for the Steers?

Jo Frost, a modern-day Mary Poppins with decades of professional nannying experience, takes on the wildest children and rescues desperate, overstressed parents using innovative and time-tested methods, along with good old-fashioned discipline. Although grateful families consider Jo a miracle worker, the techniques she teaches can be adopted by anyone.

In the show’s first season, Jo helps the Woods family, whose youngest child, two-year-old Charlie, is a raging toddler who is wreaking havoc with his out-of-control behavior, and single mom Kelly Steer, whose two young children fight with each other, refuse to eat and sleep properly, destroy their bedrooms and, worst of all, physically attack Kelly.

    1. Are parents and grandparents actually this bad or are they engaged in bad acting in front of the cameras to make Jo Frost look good? Who parents without a plan to hit developmental milestones? It is crazy for 4 and a 5 year-olds to be untamed during their second year of life so they are in a continuous state of tantrum-throwing violent behavior. This woman should not have custody of her kids, if she cannot do the job properly. Sickening laziness and favoritism.

    2. Being a single parent is NO EXCUSE. I became a widowed mum of 4 (10/8/6 and 6 months) at 29. I had no support at all from family or friends. But i pushed on,put my needs aside. And i now have 28/26/24 and 15. They've turned out to be great kids/adults. Am i exhausted some days/lonely..yes. But my hard work and dedication paid off. Persistence/structure/love and clear boundaries are the key
Gotta add this too, extracurricular activities are great for kids. And establishes a sense of community, and rules 😊😊

    3. 27:12 what does she say? Sounds like, "keep strong kelly….and keep masterbating" that couldn't have been what she said though. I've re-played it several times and I cannot understand what she says!

    4. My middle child tried the whole pee the bed in the middle of the night. We bought a mattress cover and overnight bed potty pads and spare bed sheets to prevent a sleeping in my bed pattern. Mostly due to the fact I was sleeping on the couch so the kids could have the beds.

    5. Kelly got remarried and had 4 more children; Ben, Aaron, Frankie and Stanley. Making her a mum to 6 kids.

Sophie was excluded from school in April 2012 for unknown reasons according to Kelly. It's unknown If Sophie's behaviour did actually change 7 and a half years after the episode's original airing, or if her behaviour was instigated by the producers, like in The Young Family (U.K.).

In July 2023, Callum was sentenced to 8 years in prison for the unprovoked stabbing of a 31 year old man. The man, who received severe damage to his neck, survived the attack. Callum is now the second Supernanny child to go to prison, the first was Jacob from The Young Family (U.K.).

    6. A Barbie styling head was seen outside the house.

When Kelly used Toy Confiscation on Sophie, a doll of Boo from Monsters Inc. can be seen.

A Nickelodeon broadcast can be seen as Callum & Sophie were watching TV when Sophie was disrespecting Kelly over Toy Confiscation and when Callum was punching Kelly in the beginning. Sophie also appears to be watching the now defunct Fox Kids. Because of this, it can easily be assumed the family had Sky.

Several Disney Princess Dolls can be seen on the couch as Sophie & Callum were limited to 10 toys.

In the scene where Kelly tries to put the kids to bed she mentions the BBC soap opera Eastenders and when she mentioned It was finished the theme tune can be heard faintly In the background.

    7. You know I feel like Callum isn’t really the problem child 33:17

Sophia is. Because before Callum just did whatever bad behavior Sophia was doing…but Callum is also showing us his true personality by showing that he can be behave

    8. It is very sad that this one of Jo’s failed families. (Not Jo’s fault but the mother’s for not doing the techniques properly.) Even though Callum’s behaviour improved drastically in this episode, it didn’t last long since he got arrested for stabbing someone last year. Ironically Sophie may have turned out better although there’s not much info on her other than she got expelled from school in 2012.
