On July 9, 2024, in Krasnoe, Gomel Region, Belarus, a taxi driver was penalized for nearly hitting young cyclists. The incident occurred when the driver, who was 22 years old and behind the wheel of a Volkswagen, ran a red light and almost collided with children on bicycles and a personal mobility device. The near-miss was captured on dashcam and reported to the State Traffic Inspectorate. The driver was held accountable for creating an emergency situation and ignoring traffic signals.
