The gear indicator snapped at the thread end of my 5 year old brompton. Ordered a repalcment, meticulously took the hub apart to find the tiny thread inside the axle key. Reassembled it, added the new indicator, took it for a test ride, noticed it was loose again and sure enough it's snapped in the same place! Booked it in for a service but wondered if anyone had encountered the same problem? Thanks 🙂

Oh bugger, removing that must have been a lot of work!
You assembled it the usual way, fully threaded in, then back off at least half a turn?
If it’s happened twice I would say you’ve over tightened and then make a habit of changing hub gears while under heavy load.
When adjusting make sure its on 2nd Gear and 1mm or rod is showing through the Nut Hole (this just sounds wrong LUL) when adjusting.
