Rail Trails are old railway lines converted into linear parks that connect rural towns. This one in central Victoria is highly developed with a paved path the entire way – no cars and cycling friendly gradients thanks to the railway engineers over a century ago.

The ride from Bright to Myrtleford is almost completely flat. The next days ride to Beechworth is almost all uphill for 15km – a great workout.

The final day is a lot of fun, descending that 15km hill and back to the flats all the way into Wangaratta.

Catching public transport in and out. Our Bromptons didn’t skip a beat despite the early wet weather. Plus carried all our gear.

Bromptons and rail trails are a great combination. More details on [this and other rail trails here](https://www.railtrails.org.au/trails/murray-to-mountains-rail-trail/).
