Great segment with Matt Stevens on the bike. Top bloke. Eurosport have a superb cycling commentary team.
correction corner Rob, TDFFZ is 8 stages over 7 days. Stages 2/3 are held on the same day. A short 69.7km road stage followed later in the day with an ITT of 6.3km
The strict time cuts are one of the reasons why Tour de France is so fascinating. There is no other pro cycling stage race where riders are just fighting to stay in the race and where staying in the race is already a big achievement. When the leaders have already finished, there is still a desperate race at the back going on for a long time. And these desperate races at the back often create some of the most emotional and memorable stories of the pro cycling season.
