    1. Any engineers know what happened here?

The top tube is in compression, it’s usually one of the stronger tubes. Is this force more stressful for carbon fiber?

    2. I wouldn’t want that repaired, might as well just buy a new frame at this point

Ouch they’re really not…though you can probably get it repaired at a reputable carbon repair shop, not sure if would be worth it though

This happened from wheelieing the bike? Not dropping it?

And I wouldn’t listen to the haters, I think it could be repaired. $3-500 not counting shipping or disassembly/reassembly for a professional repair. Calfee, Broken Carbon, and Altitude Composites are all worth a look.

    5. I can not think of any way a wheelie would cause more stress than a pot hole unless a crash was involved.

That makes me question your boutique level frame, it’s not a cheaping out problem on your end.

You don’t by chance clamp a work stand or vehicle rack to the top tube, do you?

    6. How old is the frame, and is it still under warranty?

If so, you’ll likely be getting a new frame.

I wouldn’t emphasize the part about popping wheelies if they ask what happened.

I’m impressed that you still felt confident enough to get a photo of it, while riding it.

Time to get a new frame. If you love wheeling and crash sometimes maybe look into titanium.
