    1. Take your time, skip cheap stuff or it will keep hurting. No not put shorts over it, it just makes things go in flames : D

Pay attention at undrwear too, nothing with thick textures or edges.

    2. You look perfectly fine, what’s more important is that the Chamois doesn’t rub or chaff, they make Chamois butter for that. Also make sure you do not wear underwear between yourself and the Chamois it will only make matters worse.

As far as fit goes I wouldn’t call it criticism because I’m not wearing them. The material has a function and it’s not just to cover your bare skin. Depending on who made them and how they’re sewn… as your muscles go through contractions it will help pump blood through your muscles. For this reason it’s important that they’re not overstretched. The seam or cuff seems to be really low on your leg but if it’s comfortable AND it doesn’t feel tight and stretched I’d be OK with it. Snug is the keyword – should not limit range of motion.

You seem to be a pretty decent shape at baseline. You have good muscle shape and structure for a cyclist you’re going to be just fine !

      EDIT: reworded for clarity

I would fasten the helmet strap a little more, so the helmet stays where it it supposed to be – other than that you are good to go.

Endura has bike shorts that look like regular shorts or bibs designed to be worn under some loose running shorts

You’re fine. I don’t know if you intend to ride in that shirt too, if you do you’ll probably want to upgrade to a cycle specific item.

Honestly some don’t look great in lycra but you look absolutely fine.

    6. No one cares what you look like. Shorts are fine. Work on your self confidence and not caring what other people think.

    7. No

      Body

      Cares

You’ll realize that somewhere along that first ride. Have fun!

Perfect. That’s the type of shorts I wear and I’m a mountain biker dude.

    9. There’s nothing wrong with how they look. Go out and ride!

I sometimes wear a pair of baggy cargo shorts over mine because I want the pockets. Absolutely fine to wear something over the cycling shorts/bibs. Just don’t wear anything under.

Tes jambes sont très jolie, tu doit être très confient☺️ le seul problem de mettre des short régulier par dessus, ça risque d’être un peu chaude.

I think it looks great! Where what makes you comfortable, although you might find it a bit warm if you wear a regular short on top.

    11. This is great and padded bike shorts give me the comfort for longer rides. My commute is a mile and a half so I just wear street clothes but on the weekends (and sometimes early before work) we go on longer rides and I need the padding. The black color masks shadows and contours so what you’re seeing in the mirror is nearly invisible on the road. I have noticed that my skin doesn’t like the silicone band so I turn up the hem on the legs to prevent irritation.

    12. Looks fine. Like a person gonna ride a bike.

You can throw shorts or a skirt or whatever over it, but I’ve found that sometimes that wears away at the fabric of the cycling shorts. There are “liner shorts” that are sold that do a better job in that situation. They’re also usually smaller and or much thinner or meshy and usually kinda *need* something worn over then.

Do whatever makes you feel confident. However, adding layers increases the chances of chafing, so do be mindful of that.

Honestly. After wearing these for a while. I realized that nobody cares if you wear them. Especially while cycling.

Get a tight jersey, too! Flapping fabric slows you down and is annoying – you’re rocking the shorts, they look fine.

Looks fine to me. I wear some really light shorts over the shorts, if there is a lot of padding. I would not wear the sandals or open towed shoes though. Just because I think it would be unsafe to pedal with these type of shoes/sandals.

IF you do not mind me asking, what brand of shorts did you get? I cannot seem to find the right type.

Crushing it! Shorts over the top are fine but unnecessary. Just get out and ride!

    18. Swap that top out for a moisture wicking t shirt or tank top and you’ll be ready to go!

Shorts & Shirt are perfect as are you!

Helmet strap needs fastening, as others pointed out, but I wanted to emphasize on that. And I would recommend different shoes, not because of looks but for better grip on the pedals and better transfer of power from your legs to the pedals.

Everyone at one time or another asks themselves “how does my ass look in these”?

Completely normal. The answer is no one cares.

Now for guys, “how does my manly junk look in the front” is another question. Feels like my package is in display for the entire world! Gotta make it look presentable!

Love the sandals. I got cycling specific sandals last summer and it feels so good in summer. Not so much in winter, but where I live it pretty much never freezes 😉

you look perfectly fine, but worst case, look into mountain bike style shorts, they come with inner and baggy outer layer. That’s how I started but nowadays I wear regular bike shorts for longer rides. Regular jeans/shorts for shopping trips etc.

    22. You can always wear shorts over! I always do when I because I feel equally self conscious. Regardless you look fine!

    23. I wear what’s comfortable. In the long run wearing what’s conformable keeps you on the bike. I typically wear shorts over the padded shorts(chamois). I don’t wear anything under the chamois. when I first started riding I wore regular shorts and started to hurt after a few miles.
