As the title says, I'm about to buy my first road bike. I've been riding a relatively cheap mountain bike for the past 10 years but recently find myself mostly riding on bike lanes and roads which is why I want to get a road bike. I usually do 1-2 hour rides and like to go quick but have no practical experience with road bikes which is why I need help. I'm a very sporty guy with good core strength but have some low back issues due to a slightly bulging disk.

I'm quite a sucker for the looks and really like the looks of the race bikes but given my description above I guess an endurance bike would be a better fit. I keep great care of my possessions and plan to keep the bike for 10+ years. My budget is around 2000 EUR but I would be able to stretch it a bit for a dream bike (carbon, maybe Di2 shifting). Here are my picks:

    • Radon Vaillant 8.0 105 Di2 – 2700 EUR. It's a bit above the budget, but this is the dream. Great looks, electronic shifting, carbon frame. I'm just afraid the geometry might be a bit aggressive? Based on detailed specs seems to be between race and endurance bike? https://www.bike-discount.de/en/radon-vaillant-8.0
    • Radon Spire 8.0 105 Di2 – 2350 EUR. Seems like great value for money, not as good looking as the one above but also cheaper (cheapest Di2 bike I found). https://www.bike-discount.de/en/radon-spire-8.0
    • Bianchi Oltre Race 105 – 2350 EUR. Looks great and has great specs, but I'm afraid the geometry will be too aggressive (race)? https://www.bike-discount.de/en/bianchi-oltre-race-105-2
    • Canyon Endurace CF 7 105 – 2300 EUR. I think Canyon has boring colours for its lower range bikes, but I've heard great things about this bike and also seems like decent value for money. https://shorturl.at/nHFeB
    • Canyon Endurace 7 AL 105 – 1550 EUR. Cheaper aluminium alternative to the bikes above. Decent specs and I'm considering it since it's a first road bike. Not a huge fan of the looks but it still looks pretty good. https://shorturl.at/QFDQn
