Discover my cycling journey from childhood adventures to scenic bike trails and urban cycling scenes. In this video, I’ll share how my love for physical activity and filmmaking led me to start this YouTube channel. Growing up, I enjoyed various sports, and my first bike ride without training wheels happened in Portsmouth, England. Fast forward to my 30s, I learned the importance of bike maintenance, and by my 40s, I was regularly cleaning my bike, enhancing my riding experience. After a significant weight gain and a ligament injury, cycling helped me lose over 30 pounds. I’ll discuss my preference for stability and ruggedness over speed, my experience with different types of bikes, and why gravel bikes fit my style perfectly. Join me on this exciting journey as we explore the world on two wheels. Don’t forget to subscribe and hit the notification bell for more cycling adventures!

    1. A kindred spirit 🙂 Cycling has been a big part of my life for 55 years. Started seriously riding at 11yo, long distances, then raced pro in the 1980s, then recreationally, and now at 66 years old full-time cyclist no car, 5000 to 10,000 miles a year depending on weather. Since racing my recreational bikes have been changing with the available parts, until today I ride a converted hard tail on the road. A fat bike off-road. Comfort bikes for commuting in town. And an Ebike for hauling heavy loads in town. Today live in the vast wilderness of Northern California, surrounded by 4 large mountain ranges and the flat valley South. I live where I would vacation and never leave. Hope to have some spirited conversations with you. (I also love hiking, kayaking, and weight training).
