The annual Jo Cox Way cycle ride has kicked off and is well underway for 2024. The mammoth 293 mile bike ride begins in Batley and Spen in Yorkshire, the area MP Jo Cox represented before her murder in 2016, and ends here in London – representing Jo’s own journey from the constituency to the capital.
This year, a record number of cyclists are taking part, including more female riders than male for the first time.
Journalist and member of the Jo Cox Way group, Tim Smith, told Helena about fundraising, and why the cycle ride is a perfect way to celebrate Jo’s legacy.
