Looks incredible, Cornwall sure is beautiful. Great video Chris!
Yes it is! Treen on the way back east is a git of a hill though on that sharp left-hand turn half way up 🥵
One of the best driving roads too which for me makes it sketchy for us cyclists.
Definitely one of the best Chris, being local myself its my favourite ride to do either direction, truly feels like stepping back in time, amazing view's, good cafe stops and awesome cycling
ride this rd when i stay at st ives fantastic
Chris, those cows you talk of are Belted Galloways!
Interesting how other Cornish people pronounce place names local to me. The north coast road is my favourite cycling road, especially the stretch from Portreath to Land’s End.
Fabulous video Chris which has wetted my appetite to do the ride, thanks. What drone are you using for your arial shots?
Drive, motorcycle or cycle fantastic road, been along it many times 👍😎♥️
I love the road out of St Ives through to Lands end. As a round trip I usually head from Carbis Bay out to Marazion and round that way. Land’s End back to St Ives is always some grim headwind 😫 When I was really new to cycling I tried a flying start on tackling Raginnis hill, blew up before I’d really got anywhere and failed to unclip in front of a group pensioners 😂
i start in porthcurno , st ives , portreath back to hayle then across to portleven , pra sands marizion , penzance mousehole , lamorna, home , epic ride
that spar near lands end has saved me many a time
Loverly route Chris, but it's not Devon Hahaha
Done a similar route in the summer from gwithian, beautiful route, return route via mousehole lovely view from the top overlooking mounts bay and st michaels mount
I've ridden that route to Lands End but started from Perranwell Station 🚉. We were on our way to start the LEJOG with friends. We rode it early early in the morning started at 4.00 and on the coastal roads we didn't see a car hardly at all and all we could hear were birds singing. Will never forget it, loved it.
Only done this ride a couple times from the other direction (clockwise coming through from Marazion, Mousehole, Lands end etc). Can be unrelenting but it’s certainly rewarding. Stunning scenery.
Super nice 😊👍🏻👍🏻
I rode this road in April then down to Mousehole and Marazion before cutting across country back to Hayle and St Ives – 10/10 100k route! Luckily had lovely blue skies like you guys and it couldn’t have been a better day out! Now… just to persuade my wife that we need to take my bike on holiday again next year… 😅
Heavenly
A truly stunning part of Cornwall. Have stayed in the area on holiday a few times now and it's just so lovely and peaceful – especially early mornings!
Lovely route Chris it’s part of the Lands End sportive, which I’ve done it in pouring rain and howling winds and beautiful sunshine (I will leave it to which I preferred lol )
Thank you very much for the videos Chris, i think I recognise parts that road from the summer!
You're selling it very well, it looks beautiful !
I am inclined to agree! Haven't cycled it in a while sadly but I did blast down it on my motorbike yesterday and it was an absolute joy. A great video of a great place and what looked like a great ride too 😊
Lubberly… 👍
Belted Galloway cattle (The Pandas of Penwith)
I’ve done this route a few times going the other way and I’m totally hooked. The best road for so many reasons. If you can catch it in warm, still weather it’s truly magical. Will be returning to try it on a single speed soon.
Fabulous photography Chris & a great road indeed!
This is my regular route one way or the other, as I live along it. Great route to ride on a nice day, very different when it's blowing a Westerly!
That Climb out of St Ives always does for me.
Carthrottle heeft een paar maanden een paar leuke videos gemaakt in deze omgeving, South coast 500 als tegenhanger van de northcoast 500. Leuk dat je zo je omgeving laat zien.
Great vid, might have to get down there for the mining bike pose shot, that's cool.
I was there this summer. My first time in Cornwall and I was blown away. I did this coastal road a couple of times in the other direction and it was breathtaking and virtually no traffic. I was looping up from nr Mousehole and the inland route through Lower Drift, Sancreed to St Just was also beautiful – although without the same kind of views. But the coastal route was incredible. It's right up there for me among favourite rides, although personally, I have to put the Black Isle just above it.
I totally agree its a brilliant road in late autumn or early spring
