Joanna Rowsell and Orla doing cycling. It would have to be those two to get me up at 5 am UK time to watch the cycling. The authority you have as a commentator goes up if you are a former racer. Bonus points if you can actually transition from being a cyclist to a commentator and rowsell did just that.
I really like it when rowsell does the cycling. Her knowledge of the event and her authority just comes though without even trying.
Orla with her word magic does not need to be a former racer. She can dazzle with her words alone. I am rubbing my hads in glee.
I remember being a 10 year old boy in 1980, listening to the olympics on my radio, at night in the middle of the night, when i was supposed to be sleeping.
This will be the time of my life – see you on Monday, Paris 2024!

Having the opening ceremony in a stadium was a security threat. Thats so sad , politicians must be proud.

The opening ceremony is a complete failure. From men wearing dresses to Lady Gaga auditioning for a Pepto Bismol commercial.
Mostly woke Agenda,destroyed the athletic spirit,not showing the Teams and athletes properly, chaotic."Nice ceremony 😂😂😂

Not because of the weather, but that didn't help.
Even without the rain, this was THE MOST WORTHLESS OLYMPIC INAUGURATION & FIRE LIGHTING EVER!
They let Carl Lewis stay in the boat, even though he would be the ideal fire starter. Personally, I had hoped for Wayne Gretzky, who comes from French Canada. A given choice.
The fire must of course be & lit at the top of the Eifel Tower. Something more obvious is obvious. A damn make-believe balloon…. ugh f…
The only one that held REAL CLASS lasted 5 minutes & was AWESOME!!!!
It was Céline Dion who sang a beautiful version of "Hymne à l'amour" whose original was sung by Édith Piaf & she did it with feeling & tone like no other, because Edit is dead. 🙂 Extra valuable performance, as she soon lost her voice due to a serious illness.
15 billion cost the spectacle which consisted of boating, loud music of many kinds & a silly light show that is as easy as possible to program & a damn pretend balloon that caught fire instead of having it at the top of the Eifel Tower, which was a given. 🙁 THAT'S IT!
