Thornhill Academy is a school with big ambitions and life there is changing fast. This episode follows new Head Teacher Mr Mitchell in his mission to improve the school’s fortunes. He’s 18 months into his first ever headship and wants to revolutionise the school’s ethos, results and reputation. But every day his vision is challenged by the trickiest of adversaries teenagers. This week alongside more typical problems of habitual smokers and snowball fights, Mr Mitchell and his team have to deal with a more sensitive issue as allegations of racist name calling are brought to his attention. Once again he’s torn between dealing with troublesome teens and fulfilling his plans for the school.

  1. Really appreciate the approach from the Headmaster. I was born in Yorkshire and went to a comprehensive school so can see a lot of similarities between my education and that at Thornhill. He looks like he's doing a really solid job at giving kids with potential the space they need to grow while offering real insight to help kids slipping. I can relate to both. Having strong leaders in a student body and faculty helped me to get where I am and he has a thankless job but giving it his all. Keep on doing what you are doing and the kids will show you your well deserved rewards.

  2. That head teacher is so chill, he's honestly very patient and reasonable. He doesn't kick off unnecessarily. If I had a head teacher like that when I was a kid, I would've respected him just for being a decent bloke.
