Charlotte Dujardin, Britain’s three-time Olympic equestrian champion, has been shown repeatedly striking a horse on the back of the legs with a whip in distressing footage shared with Telegraph Sport.
The leading dressage star, who could have become the country’s most decorated female Olympian, has been banned from the Paris Games over the video, in which her treatment of the horse has been likened to whipping an “elephant in the circus”.
Dujardin can be seen using the whip on several occasions against a horse she is training. The full video, which has been shared with The Telegraph by the whistleblower’s lawyer, is alleged to show Dujardin striking the animal 24 times.

She's just upset she got caught. She lacks the basics of good horsemanship and uses violence to force horses into compliance. This abuse seems well practiced. Sick!

I am not saying this because she is a formerly highly recognized rider. That is the worst use if a whip I have ever seen. That this a lunging whip which had a long string at the end. That thing would snap back so hard. Just listen to the sound it is making. I hope that horse hasn’t developed an trauma, mental or physical, from this.

The woman videoing is no better, laughing at the poor horse, they all need banning from having anything to do with animals all together.
She knows what she’s doing, why this is being criticised is beyond me!! Horse obviously needed discipline.
Not defending her at all, just very confused: I’ve seen people whip horses in movies all the time when riding them to make them go faster. I also know spurs, which are spikes on the back of cowboy boots, are designed to be kicked into horses’ sides. Those things seem cruel but tolerated. How is this different?

The person videoing is laughing. Obviously this is how Dujardin trains in general. Others need to speak out, if only to give a voice to the animals she has be abusing for years.
I just took that to be standard practice.
