So glad you decided to race IMLP. And you’ve inspired me to approach asking the wife if I can do IM Wales…wish me luck 😂
Go on Joe. That 2:37 in my hometown (Tenby) is one of the most amazing things I've seen. It'll come back – keep going! Smash it Sunday mate 👊🐶
Congrats to Harry Palmer for the win!
Go mental on the bike mate.. you’ve got it .. wooof wooof wooof 👌👍🏼
The peoples pro ❤🙌🙌 Joe you’ve inspired me to give triathlon a go and its been life changing. Keep going !!
Wouldn't be too disappointed, it sounds like there was a lot of drafting in that front group on the bike. I'd imagine that's why you weren't putting any time into them.
It might be the difference is that you had Lake Placid in the back of your mind, so you didn't go as deep as the others. Also, 70.3 is too short for you….not enough distance to show your strength 💪 😉
Great vid, been following you for a while now and you seem on the cusp of getting the results you've worked so hard for. I hope you don't pack it in, I think you can go all the way. Im not an expert but 4th is bloody close to podium and a great result IMO.
Was there any jellyfish?
For what it’s worth mate, watch Harry’s post race video… sounds like there was some people in the front pack not riding too fairly and Harry had to put in a big dig to get rid of them! You’re right there mate, use this disappointment to get fired up for placid! Maybe race a bit riskier and really leave it all out there, smash it mate! 👊🏼👊🏼
Maybe it doesn’t feel like it for you some times, but bad times will go away, and you will get to your peak performance and results once again. The body is a complex mechanism, purely the biological side on its own, then you have the psychological side… . Probably this doesn’t help you, or you don’t read this, but man you are a powerhouse and a top athlete, even if it doesn’t look like it for you. Be patient, analyse what you can improve and I’m sure you’ll get back on track and smash it! The sport need Joe Skippers, you are such a breath of fresh air!
lake placid is the bigger goal!
You'll always get a welcome in Wales Joe, there's a lot of love for the big dog here. Me and Mrs P will be barking at the tv cheering you on tomorrow.
Plenty of life in the old dog yet, chin up and keep swinging Joe 🐶🐶👍🏻
Excellent blog as always. I for one hope you toe the line at Placid I think you regret it if you didn't. All in with a Fxxk it attitude and if your going to go out at least you can say I went out fighting
Yes Joe, smash it. Fighting through these tough times and coming back makes you so resilient. Keep driving forward 💪💪
You've definitely got more top results in you Joe, keep pushing
Joe – a 70.3 (not your specialism) with no taper. It was a solid result. Chin up. Pro Triathlon needs you. Results and winning is one thing but it’s also your total honesty, openness and willingness to show vulnerability that gives so much to the sport. Go and smash LP! 💪🏼🐶
Stay with it bud, you got it .
So you are racing Placid?
Sorry you've had a bad run, but prior to this dip, you were smashing it. Good luck for Lake Placid!
Legend, keep chin up. Keep going.
You'll go well in Placid.
Think maybe you train too hard before race day, causing a bit of fatigue , try 2 full days before and absolutely nothing . You won't lose anything but I believe you'll be better prepared . Done this before myself ,(obviously not your standard) but it helped massively. Don't retire , much to much still to give ❤
Joe, that's a solid performance by any measure. Given your training load, your recent Cairns competition and one eye on Lake Placid….. 4th place against regular 70.3 specialists is a great result!
A very intense young man.
all the best wishes for lake placid. give it your all. woof woof.
Joe, you are awesome… it doesn't matter what position you finish the races in.
You are a winner because of how you continue inspire so many of us!
Don’t you fucking dare give up 😍😍😍💕💕💕❤️❤️❤️💕😍❤️💕💕😍
Come on Joe get them smashed at Placid!!! 💪💪
Doubt kills more dreams than failure does.
Love your channel. Love your work. Have to say – what you just felt with your race outcome is what 99% of a selection of age groupers feel, when they train amazing, but someone more genetically gifted kicks their arse despite less than optimal commitment. That’s life.
Come on big fella smash LP. No way you’re quitting
awesome to meet you 3:45 Joe. What a nice guy taking time for people. A truly honourable performance 💪🏼
Chin up junkyard dog and don’t make too much of a decision in an emotional state. You felt strong but you were training for a 140.6 and admittedly did minimal tapering and peaking for this. Take the strong feeling into the week and crush Placid!
Hey Man I’ve already put all my money on Justin Metzler and I don’t have any more but I just got a loan and put the rest on You! LFG at Lake Placid 😈✊🏼🔥
Very honest summary of your race. You didnt mention your lack of taper. This will have hurt your race preformance compared to the others who probably did taper
A good solid performance here.
That woman at the desk… "can i take your name" she knew exactly who you were lol
Joe don't retire get a coach!
Use that disappointment for lake placid fuel you got this mate ruf ruf ruf ruf
Well done. Great video! It's really good to hear nice things about my hometown ❤
Watched this after IM Lake Placid. I think you've got some great results in you this year!
