First time buying bib shorts – are they too big?

I recently ordered a pair of bib shorts from Universal colour, first ever bibs, so I’m not sure how they’re supposed to fit.

I’m 78kg, 158cm, I ordered a XXL.

They feel snug but not too tight. They stay in place and don’t move around, but the chamois in the back doesn’t fit flush to my bum, there is a very small gap. They don’t feel uncomfortable, but the padding feels awkward which I think is something to get used to.

I ordered based on the measurements, and I’m afraid that if I change to a size down they’ll be too tight? But not sure if they should be tighter than this.
