THEMOVE team scratching our heads again when we saw Tadej Pogacar attack. Lance had some words for him on the political side of bike racing and things we wishes he had done differently. We also talk to Michael White, father of rising star Magus White who was tragically killed while cycling in Boulder a year ago. More info at http://www.thewhiteline.org

  1. Pog loves to ride that is why he is attacking even if he doesnt have to. I agree that it is not tactically optimal but I also think that it is why he is on another level. Because he is still pushing himself even in a situation like this.

  2. Why does Tadej attacking always rubs these guys the wrong way? So much talking from them every single time. If you race and you have the legs and lungs to do it you enjoy it. Tomorrow is not promised, and Tadej very clearly lives in the now as we all should. When I raced in the 90s I had his passion and the results as a junior were there, so to me his riding style is very relatable. When you race it's a war not a family gathering. I'm from Slovenia, grew up a couple miles from where his family house stands and rode through almost daily and raced way before he was born. Every time us Slavs get big in something these big nations start these rants and critiques. Why? Because we should stay low and follow the lead? I don't get it. Nobody criticized Jonas last year when he went full throttle moments after Tadej radioed in that he was dead, Jonas already having enough advantage prior to it. Why was that necessary? To show off? To demolish Tadej completely? Was it Jonas' ego? What about politics of that day? So you kick the guy when he's already down?

Jonas keeps yapping to the media how he can still win and Pogacar says: "No, Jonas you won't." Except he does it without words. I honestly thought that Tadej was fooling himself saying that Jonas was afraid of him. I believed the opposite was true. But he proved me wrong. He knew his level and tested Jonas often enough to have gathered enough understanding that he can handle him.

And Lance, you can't compare yourself. He smashed Pantani's record by minutes not seconds and your time was almost 6 minutes behind Tadej, so you have no idea what means to be Tadej or Jonas strong. Sorry but not sorry.

  3. Also, Lance don't compare yourself to Tadej how the peloton will hate him. Hate him for what? He has plenty of friends in the peloton, you had none, everybody there hated you. It's a huge difference. I honestly think you can't stand Tadej so much because you're jealous that soon you won't be able to brag about your achievements because either Tadej or Jonas will smash them all. Tadej seems closer to that given how aggressive he rides, so he will way outperform you.

  4. Play it conservative ? Calculate racing ? WTF !!! It is boring as a bingo game in a senior residence !! POG attack …i watch ! Simple !🚀🚀

  5. The TDF caravan starts with a red race director car, followed by the riders in the peloton, followed by the directors in the vehicles and finally comes the circus on four wheels, dedicated to promo. On the WEDU channel, the caravan runs in reverse order 🙂 I like this classic WEDO edition.

Pog wears Jonas down with attacks, even if he doesn't end up gaining significant time, it will leave Jonas driving over his limit for the third day in a row, making him all the more vulnerable today. Jonas can crack today, otherwise tomorrow, TT will be a disaster for him, if Tadej will continue attacking. Tadej learns a lot on this TDF, he improves different attracting strategies and most importantly, he learned how to ride defensively. He didn't follow Remco's attack, that was probably a mistake, he would gain much more time and Remco also, but he shows that he can control his attacking instinct at least for a while :). The only thing for him to pay attention to is to always, always have gel with him, to make a separation when attacking and go into defensive when Jonas catches him. The last thing to consider for him is what others are thinking. He is a fair play racer, any one knows that, riders who need to take care of politics in the peloton are not fair play riders at all, they are scammers. Fuck the politics, the show must go on!

  6. His way of riding is the way we've been seeing the last few years, sometimes even if doesn't need to win more time, he can't ride differently from the way he has been doing, that's one reason why so many people love to see him ride!

  7. What Lance is saying to me is: Bro, you're juicing, you're winning… Don't go doing more massive attacks that highlight the fact you're juiced. Just win and do it modestly and you will get away with it. If you keep attacking like that like I did you will get caught!

  8. Lance, for the eyes.. = search sungazing, grtz Claude Pauwels from Belgium, forner cyclist did big fall in 1999 and i got a card from your team. Big thanks finally for that.

  9. Screw politics. If you put out the Watts, you go. If you invested in a top performing team, you go.

If the performance is not in the other teams, they go by the way side.

Otherwise you can get rid of the teams and go with my design. 80 pace setting hares, from which the stars can launch from at any time. But then you are on your own. Of those 80, 40 are sprint hares and 40 are mountain hares. A cozy communist solution.

  10. Who the fq thinks about politics… Thats why there is no one strong from US in peleton. He is from Slovenija, he is racer, true cyclist, he doesnt give a fq about politics. He rides like he feels, enjoy him!

  11. It's obvious why he is still attacking. You all pissed him off by saying a 100% Jonas would beat him. Also he is not just after the Tour he is after Merchxs crown.

  12. I understand Lance when he says the attack wasn't necessary and that it might feed suspicion towards his performances. However, if he's clean it doesn't really matter, does it? Journalists and the public can think whatever they want, since it would be impossible to find anything if doesn't do anything illegal. I ride granfondos in Europe and I have to admit it's just very very nice to smash it on a climb when you feel strong, whether it's on training or in a race. Since it was a rather short effort, it's not going to hurt him anyway…

  13. People who thought Vingegaard had a chance this Tour I can only describe as crazy. Vingegaard’s accident, Visma’s weakness, Pogačar’s very « easy » Giro, Pogačar’s 80km attack on that Strade Bianche stage all said otherwise. The fact that Vingegaard is even in the talk to podium is amazing. But he never had a chance of winning this Tour.

  14. I ride in the opposite direction, against traffic. This way you can tell if a driver coming against you has noticed you and be ready to go into the ditch. Can't trust them.

  15. Hi Lance.
    Help me here…
These 2 guys are breaking every record you put up in the Tour De France & we must accept that they are 100% clean, what's your take on the 2 leaders of this year's Tour De France?

  16. The most boring biggest cheater of all telling a talented entertaining rider to stay quiet. You're the one that should stay quiet and modest about your fraudulent career

  17. My heart goes out to Michael White and the White Family. I can only imagine what they are going through. Its very admirable they have the foundation setup not even within a year and are able to focus some energy on advocacy and change. I wont be there in person, but I will ride for Magnus on the 11th.
